Max Velocity Tactical classes specialize in the teaching of combat proven, adapted, legitimate light infantry tactics, techniques and procedures. Training is informed by a background and experience in SOF / elite forces, and additionally by close protection / paramilitary contracting work. These classes are the real deal, and the tactics, techniques and procedures are familiar to any graduate of Ranger School or SFQC. Tactical classes are not simply a regurgitation of basic military manuals or training, but are adapted to the students whether civilian, military, or contractor, based on real world operational experience in hostile / combat environments.
Physical Fitness: due to the nature of the training, in real combat tactics, there is a basic physical fitness requirement for all tactical classes that move off the square range. You need to have a basic level of physical fitness and agility, as well as be mentally alert. See HERE for more detail.
Tactical Classes often start on the square ranges and progress to the tactical ranges. For example, the first day of Combat Team Tactics (CTT) takes place on the square ranges. There is also an optional Rifle Skills class prior to each CTT class. Tactical training classes use the crawl – walk – run methodology to progress up to team level, whether that is 4 man teams or 8 – 12 man squads. Class dependent: For example Combat Patrol is focused at squad level (8 – 12 Students).
The current MVT class training progression looks like this:
Combat Team Tactics (CTT), is a 3 day class, with day 1 spent on the square range, which has the option of being a 4 day class if you add Rifle Skills on the front end. Rifle Skills is a primer class that takes place on the square range. If you add this to create a 4 day class, then you will have 2 days on the square range before moving to the tactical ranges for the final 2 days of training. This gives you an excellent training progression and you will learn a lot in this 4 day class.
Combat Rifle Skills (CRS) is an option to take a slower training progression towards Combat Team Tactics (CTT), by taking the Rifle Skills and Combat Rifle days from CTT (i.e. the Thursday & Friday) and doing them standalone on the square range over the weekend.
Combat Patrol is an excellent grounding in patrolling and recce/raid/ambush. Combat Patrol is designed as a direct progression from CTT.
Force on Force (FoF) Team Tactics is an immersive scenario based class utilizing Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM) Man Marker Rounds (MMR). The FoF classes involve the practical application of team based small unit tactics (SUT) in controlled training scenarios, involving role players and free play (scenario controlled) FoF training exercises.
