The MVT Forum has been running for a couple of months now and is seeing a lot of traffic. I created the forum as a sort of offshoot to the blog that was intended to take on a life of its own – where I no longer had to moderate comments that had become whole conversations on the blog. I decided to do this because I was simply impressed by the quality of the commentariat on the blog. I am happy to see that many of you have found a place on the forum.
In other words, the forum is the creation of Max Velocity Tactical, but it is designed to be a place for growth and tactical learning, not ‘all about Max.’
In that vein, I would like to see more Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) stepping up on the forum and creating articles of your own. I don’t just mean re-pastes of other stuff, which has its place, but actual articles similar to the ones I do and that are often re-posted on the forum. There are many SME’s on the forum already, and some are doing just this. But if the cap fits, wear it. Please mix up being available to answer questions with a healthy dose of articles on useful topics.
For those of you who become significant contributors/moderators I will consider barter for training classes for your contributions, as I already do with others. Fancy a Combat Rifle Manipulation (CRM) Class for free? Write about what you know!
Of course, I mean contributions by SME’s – simply posting a lot does not get you a free class! Don’t take my kindness for weakness 😉
The best kind of contributions are ones that are in line with the general MVT philosophy of tactical training for the armed civilian. If you have doubts about something, feel free to email me. Suggested areas, by no means exhaustive:
Small Unit Tactics
Prepping/ Survival skills
Camouflage & Concealment
Shooting & Ballistics
Please check current content before writing – for example MVT has a policy on AR weapon manipulation and immediate action drills, so I prefer it to be roughly in line with that, because we don’t teach or promote bullshit. Etc. If you feel more comfortable, you can always email me an article for approval before posting it.
Max Velocity Tactical is on the leading edge of immersive, scenario based, tactical live fire and force on force training. Teaching combat proven, adapted, Special Operations / light infantry tactics.
